I have received training in Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for managing bipolar disorders as well as certification as a clinical trauma professional. A nationally certified counselor, I am also a member of LPC Association of NC and the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP).
I am passionate about helping people triumph over trauma, learn mindfulness-based practices to reduce stress and manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, understand the relationship among our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors (CBT) and learn to tolerate distress in their lives.
Great to meet you! I am a board certified license clinical social worker. I attended North Carolina State University gaining my bachelors and masters in Social Work. I specialize in working with individuals facing changes in their life, anxiety, depression, as well as children with behavioral struggles.
My ideal clients are thoughtful, anxious, highly-sensitive, tender-hearted, (and maybe a little weird) humans who have spent years navigating anxiety, identity, trauma, and the tangled gravity of family, culture, or religion. They come in feeling hypervigilant, burnt out, disconnected from their bodies, or unable to fully rest, even after building a life that fits better. You may be looking for ease, connection, and space to exist without bracing for impact. I offer a grounded, collaborative space to untangle the past, soften survival mode, and help you move toward sleep, ease, embodiment, and a life that feels more like home.
A little about me, your groovy new therapist:
I am originally from High Point, NC and studied English Language and Literature as well as Pedagogy and the Mind as an undergraduate at East Carolina University. I went on to work for East Carolina University full time while also completing my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At the end of my graduate career, I studied abroad in Spain and Portugal and subsequently moved back to High Point, North Carolina. I now live in the Triad area practicing as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and National Certified Counselor. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband, Shanon, our tortie cat, Sacred Jewel, and our silly weenie dog, Huckleberry. I like to draw, paint, collage, and write in journals. I also like philosophical books, comedy, unique cinema, spooky & self-help podcasts, crafting, and occasional gaming. I'm always down for a deep conversation about the universe, nostalgia, eclectic music, a good laugh, and some introspection. I can't wait to hear your story.

I work with individuals across the lifespan and support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, psychotic symptoms, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and stress-related challenges.
My background in both psychiatry and primary care helps me understand how closely mental health is connected to physical health, lifestyle, and overall well-being. I strive to provide care that is thoughtful, personalized, and rooted in evidence-based practice.
As a board-certified psychotherapist, I believe prioritizing mental health is key to mental stability in life. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! Finding the right therapist in Goldsboro starts with identifying what kind of support you're looking for. Whether you're seeking help with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, trauma, or another challenge, look for a licensed provider who has experience in that area. In North Carolina, common license types include LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, and psychologists — and psychiatrists are available if medication management is part of your care.
Goldsboro is a smaller metro area, so expanding your search to include virtual sessions can give you access to a wider range of providers across North Carolina. Consider what matters most to you — a provider's specialty, approach, availability, or whether they offer in-person or virtual visits. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their style and decide if they're a good match.
Therapy in North Carolina can be expensive out of pocket, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a provider in Goldsboro who fits your needs and your budget.
