I am a clinical psychologist with specialized training in trauma and relational modalities. We may be a good fit if you: • Value insight and depth. • Are curious about yourself and want to understand the "why". • Intuitively know that lasting change requires real work—and are ready for it. If you've spent your life providing, surviving, and holding things together for everyone else, therapy can feel like one more thing to manage. I work with men and working people who are tired of feeling anxious, isolated, or stuck, and who want to feel like themselves again. As a bilingual therapist raised in San Antonio, I understand the pressures of low wages, generational trauma, and the expectation to keep pushing no matter what. Whether you're navigating relationships, identity, or stress that never fully turns off, you don't have to figure it out alone.
Coming from a family of Educators and having over 20 years of experience in education and counseling, has provided me with the opportunity to service a variety of individuals and has given me a strong desire to help children as young as 5 years of age to adults and families in crisis situations. I also believe our experiences help create who we are, and each day we are given an opportunity to start new.
My experience centers on supporting clients of all ages through a wide range of life challenges. Guided by a solution-focused perspective, I believe holistic healing is a foundational part of effective client care. I am trained in EMDR, a therapeutic modality that helps clients process trauma and other difficult life experiences that may interfere with personal growth, relationships, and mental health. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and other concerns that can make it difficult to feel grounded or move forward. I hold a master’s degree from Colorado Christian University and have received training in both play therapy and EMDR. I have also worked with clients experiencing dual diagnoses within the field of substance use disorders, which has deepened my understanding of the connection between emotional pain, coping, and healing.
I received a BSW from the University of North Texas in 1990 and an MSW from the University of Maryland in 1993 and have worked in the fields of community mental health, grief and loss, foster care and adoption, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. I specialize in Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
I am certified in Brainspotting and Critical Incident Stress Management and am recognized as a Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist by the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists.
I'm a warm, inquisitive, and compassionate therapist here to meet you where you are. I use my education and training as well as my experiences to inform my practice and create a comfortable space for us to explore your thoughts and emotions.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Texas starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider the concerns you want to address — whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or something else — and look for a licensed provider with experience in that area. Texas-licensed therapists include Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and psychologists, each with different training backgrounds. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they're a good match.
With Texas being the second-largest state in the country, access to in-person care varies widely depending on where you live. Virtual therapy makes it possible to connect with a licensed provider from anywhere in the state, whether you're in a major metro area or a smaller community. Many providers on Headway offer both virtual and in-person sessions, so you can choose what works best for your schedule and preferences.
Therapy in Texas can be expensive without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay out of pocket. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per session. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a therapist who fits your needs and your budget.
