Get what you need! That is my philosophy! I am pleased to hold space for individuals that is warm, relaxing, neutral, and intentional. My goal is for clients to explore who they are, process as they need to, and become empowered to change as they see fit. With over 20 years of Social Work practice and experience, a few of my specific treatment areas include individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease, Survivors of Intimate Partner Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, and Stress.
I received my Master of Social Work from East Carolina University and have been practicing as a therapist for 11 years. I believe the foundation of effective therapy lies in a strong therapeutic relationship- one built on trust, openness, and authenticity. I am known for my open-minded, nonjudgmental, and creative approach, helping my clients feel understood and supported as we work together toward growth and healing.
Life has been very stressful lately. I've spoken with hundreds of people recently who are feeling at least a little stressed or down. Most people I talk with wait a long time before getting into therapy. Why continue to wait? Do you want to have a better relationship with anxiety? Are your anxious or self-critical thoughts keeping you down? Are you ready to try something new? I use a holistic approach with several research-based interventions including CBT, Heart Math, and Solution-Focused Therapy,
I earned a Masters of Science in Clinical Counseling from Wright State University in 2007. Together, we will develop a comprehensive plan so that you can get the tools you need to help you reach your goals. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and for that I appreciate you. Please contact me to see if we're a good fit.
I’m Dr. Pearson, and I draw on over 30 years of counseling experience helping individuals, couples, marriages, families, teens, children, and organizations work through life’s challenges. I support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, family conflict, addiction and alcohol concerns, military-related stress, and major life transitions. My background includes working with people across many stages of life, including active-duty military members, veterans, DoD staff, military families, couples preparing for marriage, families under stress, and individuals seeking healthier ways to live at home, at work, and in their relationships. I believe therapy should offer hope, practical support, and a clear path toward healthy change.
I hold two advanced degrees, Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Nursing Education. I integrate evidence-based modalities and techniques into my work based upon your needs. Some of the modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, and Somatic Experiencing. I was a holistic nurse for 15 years assisting clients with maximizing their physical, psychological, and/or spiritual health. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, complex trauma, and early childhood neglect or abuse. My clients are adults including those of diverse cultural, ethnic, and/or religious backgrounds.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, and more than 20 years of experience supporting youth and families across home, school, and community settings.
I work with individuals and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral concerns, trauma, school-related stress, life transitions, family conflict, and concerns related to safety and emotional well-being.
My approach to counseling is practical, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe meaningful change happens when individuals and families feel supported while also developing tools, insight, and healthy patterns that promote long-term growth.
When working with children and teens, I value partnering with parents and caregivers as an important part of the process, and not to be pushed aside during the treatment process of any minor.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my goal is to provide a thoughtful, supportive space where meaningful progress can take place.

I would like to continue to with that focus. In the past I also worked with children and families with Intensive In Home, and people who were homeless, primarily women, with ABCCM.
