I want to change the mental health game by making mental health-support and -education more accessible and (even) enjoyable, which is why I maintain a small caseload and remain committed to ensuring quality of care. A therapeutic relationship is deeply personal and requires both trust and chemistry - kindness and challenge. For more on me, my areas of special interests, including AD/HD and chronic illness management; and specialties - visit my website at www.MindfulMilestones.org.

My background is diverse including working in community mental health, hospice and end of life care, oncology and medical issues, as well as working with gender and sexual minorities.
With 20 years of clinical experience, I specialize in exposure to trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and fertility issues. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill (BA Psychology), and from Harvard University with my Master's of Education (EdM) in Risk and Prevention, and Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Counseling. I provide evidence-based treatments to adults, teens, and children (ages 6+) from various backgrounds, and provide therapy in English and Spanish. Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in North Carolina starts with getting clear on what kind of care you need. Licensed therapists — including LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and psychologists — provide talk therapy for concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma. If you're looking for medication management, a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner may be the right fit. Many providers in North Carolina offer both virtual and in-person sessions, so you can choose the format that works best for your schedule and location.
With providers practicing across Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, the Triad, Wilmington, and Asheville, narrowing your options can take time. Consider what matters most to you — a provider's specialty, their approach to therapy, or whether they're close to where you live or work. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their style and decide if they're a good match.
Therapy in North Carolina can be costly without insurance, but using in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and your out-of-pocket expense may be as low as $0 per session depending on your specific coverage.
